I have one Bowmar MX50. My calulator (use 3 ni-cd battery elements as your MX55 and also look similar to yours). It use 9 Volt AC 275 mA power adapter. If the connection is the same (two horizontal tip as some old razor) you could be confident: your calculator use the same adapter. Check/replace the internal battery before connect any power supply!
