Casio fx 4500p contrast problem

I lended my calculator to a friend and when he returned it to me i couldn´t almost see the numbers in the screen. I don´t know if there is a contrast function in this calculator or what can be the problem. The batteries are in good shape and the calculator works perfectly except that the infomation on the screen in very light. I need help!
