See M. Currie's post of 8 Nov. The solution posted there indeed works. Turn the calculator off. Press and hold the On key, then simultaneously press and hold the . key, then release the On key and then release the . key. In this way, you can switch back and forth between the two display modes, both of which are valid depending on the convention used.
