I have a Epson HX-20 which is said to work on 6V DC. The unit doesn't work on internal batteries, which may be dead, or there is a bad contact on the plug at its soldering point to the motherboard (opening the unit showed some residue on it). The question is this : can the machine be used without the batteries ? Also, how can I check the plug ? Do I have to use a regulated DC source, or is a rectified source sufficient ? TIA.
