Gross Cash Registers Ltd. was a major manufacturer of mechanical cash registers in the UK. They also made a few models of mechanical adding machines and electronic calculators so I am interested in the company for the Vintage Calculators site, see http://www.vintagecalculators.com/html/gross.html However information about the company is sparse but an ex-employee recently said that in the mid 1970s the company struggled with the transition to electronic cash registers and calculators, resulting in a collapse in its share price and takeover by the Chubb company.
