The "Smallwood Calculator" was not invented by Duncan Smallwood but by Russell W. Hook, Patent US1,574,249 , 2-23-1926. I guess that Grand Rapid had purchased the patent later on and/or had taken over the wole production because "Smallwood" and "Lightning Calculator" are identical (I own both of them and have taken them apart).
