Hello, I'm not sure alcaline batteries are harmless in SR10/11. Some while back I tried it in my SR16 and remarked an abnormal (high) brightness of the LEDs. Someone told me that it was not wise to overpower (NiCads are 1,2V while alcalines are 1,5V). Probably those nice old models were built to higher standards than more recent junk, but still SR10/11 are too nice to burn ! This whole affair may be silly, I don't know.
