I collect pocket calculators, both LED and some LCD's. I also have quite a few electro-mechanical, mechanical, and pocket mechanical sliders, etc. My wife and I also find dozens of slide rules, mostly of which we sell on eBay. As a land surveyor, I have appreciated the earliest calculators that reduced calculation times enormously for me. I still have several HP's that cost me a bundle new, but were well worth it.

I am looking for more information on a stylus type adding machine also called a slide adder or troncet I found that was made in Western Germany, it has a leather case with TOWER stamped on it, a bass stylus and says pocket calculator across the top and TOWER-9 additon and substration on it.

I began collecting electronic pocket calculators when it wasn't as yet fashionable to do so! At one time, I had close to thirty different machines. Then -- like a darn fool, I might add -- I donated most of them to The Salvation Army! I did, however, keep a small number of them from back then ... the ones that I couldn't bear to part with, I guess! These became the basis of what today is a collection of over 220 pocket calculators (LED, fluorescent, and LCD) from all parts of the globe. And it's all such great fun to be collecting again!

Unfortunately I'm not a collector. But I am very interested in mechanical calcs. I started as mechanic, working on Burroughs, Walter etc. I visited MADAS (Egli) in Zurich in 1937. In Sweden I worked for Facit and Original Odhner. For many years I worked on Marchant, Friden, and later on Hermes Print Calc. Also Rem Rand Print Calcs.-Monroes At the end of my career I worked with Hermes.

My collection of about 130 hand operated, non printing machines ranges from late 1800 (Burkhart, Archimedes, early Odhners and Brunsviga's) to about 1970 (last pinwheels and curta's, including some rare items such as Adix, Kuli, Demos, Lusid, a.o. I also very much like Troncet's (over 30) but slide rules (over 70) are a mere sideline. Furthermore restoring pin-wheels is great fun! Always interested in hearing from you.

I have an Omron 606, very similar to the 86, but only 6 digits. The serial number is 0008130. Does anyone know if these were made before the 86? There is no % or +/- key, also no LED for x10^8 or -ve, unlike the 86. Thanks. I just bought an intel 4004 processor tested working, :) :) :) . This was the first ever processor, made in 1971 (so was I, I was born 1972 !! ).

i just started collecting but iv'e used my 41 for 18 years. i like any rpn to toy with and have two ti's that (while i wouldn't be caught dead using at work) i think are interesting. me and the mamacita have become flea market addicts and i ocasionally find cool old calcers and calc watches. does anyone want to do some trading? i'd especially like to trade with someone who likes to fix stuf that i'm not interested in but would learn to pick up; like '70's japanese or printing calculators - and has an 11 or 32 with truck tire marks across it's lower half.
